Toya Albert was born in France and raised in Spain, the child of Americans connected to the US Air Force in Europe. Identity is an obsession of hers. How do we decide who we are and what to call ourselves? When we are strangers to others, what do they see? She was a College Scholar at Cornell University, then lived in and around New York City working odd jobs from teaching to real estate and technology. She has an MFA in poetry from Columbia University and now lives in Ontario, Canada.
