Irish-American author Tom Sigafoos also writes under the pen name of Tom Brannon. “I write the kinds of stories that I like to read – engaging, literate, fast-paced yarns that keep resonating after the last page. I love classic noir, and I hope that my novels capture some of that tenacious-underdog spirit. "In an age when novels are becoming commodities, I like to think that my stories appeal to readers who are looking for something special. And they're the best value-for-money in the shop.” In anthologies distributed via Amazon, Tom's fiction and memoir pieces are found in: Sunshine Superhighway: Solar Sailings ISBN-13 ‏ : ‎ 978-9198907605 The Quiet Quarter: Ten Years of Great Irish Writing ISBN-13 ‏ : ‎ 978-1848400528 Gleanings - Poetry Inspired by the Leitrim Observer ISBN-13 ‏ : ‎ 978-1326289898 His Irish historical novel The Cursing Stone was excerpted in The Copperfield Review, A Journal for Readers and Writers of Historical Fiction. His short stories and memoir have been published in The Quiet Quarter Anthology: Ten Years of Great Irish Writing, in Crannog Literary Magazine, in The Cathach Literary Journal, in The Leitim Observer, in The Irish Times, in Authors Publish Magazine, and in Trasna. He was shortlisted for the 2017 Percy French Poetry Prize. An early version of his historical crime novel Pool of Darkness: Raymond Chandler in Ireland was shortlisted for the 2016 Penny Dreadful Novella Prize. His American Scrapbook, a series of radio essays, was broadcast on The Quiet Quarter on RTE Lyric FM and is recorded on SoundCloud. A member of WORD, the Irish Writers' Centre and the Irish Writers' Union, Tom lives and writes in Ireland. He also serves as PRO of the Allingham Arts Association.
