Best known as the author of the Harlem-based Devil Barnett series of detective novels, Teddy Hayes is also a scriptwriter and film director. He has written 8 Devil Barnett novels published in both the USA and England -"Blood Red Blues", "Dead by Popular Demand", "Wrong as Two Left Shoes", "Graveyard Samba" "Welcome To The Big Shakedown", Kill Em' in Brazil", "Six 2 One", "The Killing of Eleanor Rigby" The Guardian newspaper described Wrong As Two Left Shoes as "a jazz jam on Viagra. ... It reads like a black Spillane, violent, breathless and never less than gripping." He has also written novels based on two of his feature films. "Her Name was Amy Tillman" and an internet based crime drama called "DaBlock". Teddy Hayes is also author of "The Guerrilla Guide To Being A Theatrical Producer", a book to help theatre producers create their own theatre projects.
