Husband to my best friend and wife, Irene for 39 years. Three amazing kids and now 3 grandchildren in 2 different countries. A wonderful journey. My professional career spans 42 years with the first 25 in Silicon Valley Hi Tech and then 19 years in Renewable energy. In late 2019, I saw a need for a different approach to senior care and decided to invest in a care agency. By focusing on two pieces of the puzzle I believe we have built an amazing little company that has over 100 employees in under 5 years. All of this during COVID to boot. The care service opened my eyes to a world of need for those who can still care for themselves but also for those in need of addition daily support. The key was to help them become mobile safely and help them regain their agility to a degree as best we could. During the first four years, I was introduced to many amazing families and learned first-hand what they really need and also on the other side of the equation how do you keep caregivers (heroes) loyal and employed to handle the high cost of living in California. While our journey has just begun so-to-speak we have made great progress and I'm very proud of our little agency that takes care of 35 Veteran families and 30 private clients. I wrote this book with absolutely zero pictures inside the covers. I wanted this to be a book about the why and help families who care for those in need a window into some safe and easy ways to improve one person's golden years one day better at a time. Time will tell but the book was released and we are excited to see how it goes. Steve
