Shawn Wright is a graphic designer and creator of the Shades Cahaba Oral History Project, created to celebrate the history of Shades Cahaba School in Homewood, Alabama. His first book, "Shades Cahaba: The First 100 Years," was developed based on the podcast. The book Alabama Short Stories, Volume 1, was published in 2022, taken from the first three seasons of stories I had written for the podcast of the same name. Thirty stories take you on a trip through the heart of this Deep South state, exploring the interesting tales that make Alabama unique. We dive into the engaging stories, both old and new, that have shaped the culture of this southern state. Now, just two short years later, Volume 2 has been published. Thirty more stories from the big cities to the small towns and from the Tennessee River to the Gulf Coast, Alabama Short Stories celebrates the people, places, and events that have impacted this state. Shawn lives in Homewood, Alabama, with his wife and two children.
