Sean Murray is the author of "If Gold Is Our Destiny," a story about the 1984 U.S. men's volleyball team and their epic quest for Olympic glory. Sean's father, Don Murray, was a sports psychologist who worked with the coaches and the players in the years leading up to the 1984 Games. Sean is the founder and president of RealTime Performance, a leadership training and organization development firm based in Seattle, WA. He writes regularly at his blog, RealTime Performance, and publishes a bi-weekly newsletter, "Murray on Leadership." Sean also speaks on the topics of leadership and team-building, and he hosts "The Good Life Podcast," where he interviews authors and business professionals on leadership and how to get the most out of life. In addition to writing and speaking, Sean creates and delivers learning experiences for clients, including courses on Leadership, Decision Making, Business Acumen, Time Management, Well-Being and Leading in the Age of AI. Sean has also created a companion workshop to the book "If Gold Is Our Destiny," that uses the incredible story of the 1984 men's national volleyball team to teach timeless lessons on leadership and building a high-performing culture. Sean attended The University of Puget Sound as an undergraduate, and earned an M.B.A., from the University of Oregon. He also co-authored the book, "The 5A's Framework: Getting More from Your Investment in Training." He lives in Seattle with his wife and two teenage children.
