Scott Neil is a writer and veteran journalist, having studied in England and the US before working for newspapers in the UK and Bermuda. He wrote the internationally released Lennon Bermuda, an account of John Lennon's time in Bermuda. In recognition of the book he received a Crystal Butterfly Literary Award for outstanding contribution to Bermuda literature. As a journalist he worked on local and regional newspapers in England before joining Bermuda's daily newspaper The Royal Gazette for 16 years. He was named Southern Newspapers' News Reporter of the Year (Northern Region) in 1997, in England, and received the Scheibel Award from Los Angeles Pierce College. His novella The Bird At The End of Time was a finalist in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards and the IAN Book of the Year Awards. A screenplay of the novella was a semi-finalist in the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards and a quarter-finalist in Shore Scripts Feature Contest.
