Sarbajit Roy was born in Asansol, West Bengal, India.Growing up in Asansol, he was influenced by his father's writings of poetry, which the latter never published. The author joined Hindustan Copper Limited, Ghatsila (now in Jharkhand), in 1979. The scenic view in Ghatsila, inspired the author to try his hand at poetry. It was 'drawing on an empty canvas a few ordered lines'. In 1984, the author moved to the United States to work on his Master's Degree and Ph.D. and stayed there for 27 years, returning to India in 2013. While attending the University of Texas at El Paso, and consequently teaching and lecturing, he also wrote poetry, many of which were published. Back in India, the author's poetry writing blossomed when working in Koderma with a renowned Engineering College of Jharkhand. The wooded, sylvan area surrounding the College, where the forest begins, has inspired eloquent expressions are some of the many poems penned by the author in this book. The author is currently still attached to an Institution, as Deputy Director. He contemplates writing more poems on varied topics associated with the woods, hills, festivals, human and animal characters, and the realms of nature. Interests in History and Mythology have also inspired some poems.
