A native of South Korea with a degree in textile engineering, Sae has spent several decades working in various roles within the textile industry, including R&D and Sales & Marketing. His vast experience in both the technical and administrative aspects of the textile business has provided him with a unique ability to satisfy consumer needs with innovative engineering for product creation and manufacturing. Sae is the founder of two organizations: HEAT-MX™ and the non-profit Clean Recycling Initiative™ and serves as the president and CEO. Sae takes pride in personally developing all the breakthrough technologies within his organizations with multiple patents under his name. Given his educational background and professional experiences, Sae has sought to make positive impacts for the public and addressed pressing issues in the textile industry, such as widespread greenwashing and the unrecognized dangers of toxic residual chemicals in textile waste. These chemicals make textile waste one of the most urgent environmental threats, yet the response from industries, authorities, NGOs, and the general public has been insufficient. In developing various technologies for HEAT-MX™, Sae also created the platform for the Clean Recycling Initiative™. This platform is designed to make a significant contribution to reclaiming textile materials and thermoplastics from plastic waste while minimizing their environmental footprints. Additionally, Sae launched the BE GREEN HEROES (BGH) campaign to combat misinformation and promote environmental literacy. His book, titled after the campaign, shares his insights on these critical issues. Sae and his organizations also host the International Sustainability Marketing Competition (ISMC), which serves to spread vital messages about environmental sustainability. In 2024, over 500 post-secondary institutions from 110 countries participated in the competition, making it a global platform for raising awareness and driving change.
