Ruthann grew up in Upstate New York, where her favorite month of October is otherworldly. She writes dark speculative, gothic, and fantasy fiction from her current home on a rural cattle ranch in Texas. Many successful anthologies feature her short stories, along with a novella and co-authored novel. Two novels are in progress for 2025 including an anticipated sequel and a Southern Gothic-inspired horrormantasy. Superstitions, backyard boogeymen, folklore, and myth influence her work. She’s been a guest on numerous panels at literary conventions and in podcasts and interviews. She enjoys travel, knows her way around the kitchen, and hates yard work and gardening.
