Russell Jackson was born and raised in Texas, and has been a lifelong fan of science fiction, fantasy, and horror. He was always imaginative as a child, but started writing with an eye toward professionalism at 16. His first completed project was a spec script for "Star Trek: Voyager" which earned him the opportunity to pitch story ideas to the writing staff of that show. They didn't bite. He completed his first film screenplay "Sacrifice of the New" in 1999, which was recently adapted into his first novel. His second movie script, "Ursa Major", was praised by reviewers in the Project Greenlight competition in 2002. His upcoming novels "We Crawl" and "Nemesis Dawning" (tentative title), should be out within the next year. A "Sacrifice of the New" sequel is also in the works.
