Russell Bloodworth, Jr. is an author who has been part of a small, grass-roots fellowship of Christian disciples for over forty years. His first book, Visions, Dreams & Encounters, takes the reader through a 65-year history of actual encounters with God in the lives of very ordinary people. Many are from his own experiences and others from those with whom he has walked. He and his wife of fifty years, Fran, became part of a small house church in Memphis, Tennessee in the early 1970s – a time of great social upheaval and the Jesus movement. They are the proud parents of four children and thirteen grandchildren. An accomplished watercolorist, Russell was educated at the University of Virginia and Yale University in addition to stints as an American Scandinavian Foundation Fellow in Sweden and a Knight Foundation Fellow in conjunction with the University of Miami. His second book, The Emerging Ekklesia, is now available on Amazon in paperback, Kindle and on Audible. His third book, Who Are You Anyway?, takes a deep dive into Exodus 34:6-7 and explores the meanings behind the Hebrew words used in the Creator's proclamation. Working in conjunction with Servants of Christ, Russell has recently released his fifth book, Seven Imperatives, which deals with Hebrew scriptures in the imperative voice from the Torah and the book of Joshua. His most recent book was written in conjunction with his son and deals with Blackbeard and conflicts with a timber company headquartered in Memphis during the late 1800s. The title is The Murgatroyd Adventures.
