Rachel O'Leary tells stories that connect us with nature and each other. She loves to watch audiences' faces light up, feel sorrow, laugh. As a Breastfeeding Counsellor, she strives to help families relax and find what works for them; especially the moment when the baby wriggles, snuggles, and latches on! Rachel writes about women finding their power to protect their forests and support each other, in spite of divisions. Getting it wrong, sometimes needing magic mist ... She lives at the edge of the fens and walks in the footprints of her characters: crunching over chalk, slipping on clay, squelching on peat. Archaeologists have found post-holes of real Anglo-Saxon homes in the settlements she brings to life. Her degree in History and Social and Policital Sciences helps her stay (fairly) accurate to life in the Dark Ages. The courses she has attended in storytelling help her spin a yarn. Her characters speak to women now, and all those who care for them.
