Ismael Tabalno, affectionately known as Pineapple Sam, grew up amidst the lush, vibrant landscapes of Kauai, Hawaii. His debut collection, "The Life and Adventures of Pineapple Sam Vol. 1," features ten captivating short stories that chronicle his youthful escapades and mischief on the island. As Sam transitions from childhood to adolescence, he grapples with a longing to explore the world beyond Kauai's shores. Amidst the backdrop of the tumultuous 1960s—a time marked by the San Francisco hippie movement, protests against the Vietnam War, and a burgeoning counterculture—Sam feels the pull of adventure.
