Peter Harman, The Food Guru is a Chef, Restaurant Owner, Business Coach, Author and founder of Food Guru Management, LLC. Restaurant Owner / Operator / Creator: Peter is a 40+ year veteran of the restaurant business who has created and operated dozens of restaurants at large resort hotels in Florida and independent restaurants in Iowa and Illinois. Graze Iowa City: Graze is a Modern American restaurant that serves food "Grazing Style". Graze is World famous for their Chicken Lips and locally renowned for cocktail excellence. Graze has won The Iowa City Press Citizen Readers Choice Award for Best Cocktails & Martinis every year since opening in 2007. Peter is in the process of building a new 16,000 square foot restaurant called Graze Steak & Seafood. Graze Steak & Seafood will be located on the 6th floor of the new Marriott hotel, across the street from Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. The new restaurant is scheduled to open in September 2020. Martini's Grille: Peter opened Martini's Grille in Burlington, Iowa in 1997. Martini's Grille is a modern America steakhouse. Martini's Grille was named, one of the Top 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America by Open Table for it's breathtaking view of the Mississippi River and historic downtown Burlington. Food Guru Management & Consulting. Food Guru Management works with restaurant owners and investment groups to create, design and manage restaurants. Restaurant Coach: The Food Guru works confidentially with restaurant owners & CEO's, through one on one coaching sessions that focus on Eight Basic Fundamentals. The goal is to help restaurant owners, managers and chefs achieve financial freedom and live the life of their dreams. Build a Better Restaurant Podcast: The Food Guru produces a weekly podcast / pep talk that focuses on the Eight Basic Fundamentals of the restaurant business. ​Author: Peter has written three food and beverage related books. The Manly Art of Macho Cookery, The Martini's Grille Cookbook and Martini's Martinis Cocktail Recipes. Peter recently published his first book on restaurant management called Restauranting 101. Restauranting 101 is available on Amazon. The Food Guru currently has three future books in the pipe line that will focus on: 1) Sales 2) Team Building 3) What the restaurant of 2025 will look and taste like Fun Facts: The Food Guru was the first chef to podcast a cooking video, way back in 2005, called Food Guru Moments. Peter produced 300 cooking video podcasts from 2005-2008. ​Peter was selected by Restaurant Hospitality Magazine as a Rising Star of the Future. He was the youngest chef to earn the title Certified Executive Chef from the American Culinary Federation at the age of 27, in 1987. Peter is also the past president of the Southwest Florida Chef's Association. Today, Peter Lives in Downtown Iowa City with his wife Kim. He has two sons. Tyler, who lives in LA, with his wife Becky and newborn son Cooper. Evan, who lives in Iowa City and manages Graze.
