Nancy Rommelmann is an author and journalist whose work appears in Reason, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, The Atlantic, The Free Press and other publications. Rommelmann's most recent books are FORTY BUCKS AND A DREAM: STORIES FROM LOS ANGELES and TO THE BRIDGE, A TRUE STORY OF MOTHERHOOD AND MURDER, the story of Amanda Stott-Smith, who in 2009 dropped her two young children from a bridge in Portland, Oregon. She is the author previously of the novel THE BAD MOTHER; THE QUEENS OF MONTAGUE STREET, a digital memoir of growing up in Brooklyn Heights in the 1970s, which was excerpted in the New York Times Magazine; the story collection TRANSPORTATION; and DESTINATION GACY, an e-book about her visit and interview with serial killer John Wayne Gacy. She writes the Substack MAKE MORE PIE, and is the cohost, with Dallas-based journalist and author Sarah Hepola, of the podcast SMOKE 'EM IF YOU GOT 'EM. Rommelmann lives in New York City.
