Over the past 30 years, Nancy Marshall and her team at Marshall Communications have won national awards and recognition for her expertise in public relations and marketing, particularly in travel, tourism and economic development. In 2011, she received the Edward L. Bernays Award from the Maine Public Relations Council, recognizing the top PR professional in the state of Maine. Her agency specializes in creating integrated marketing communications programs, which she calls The Marshall Plan®, to help clients achieve their business goals. She started Marshall Communications in 1991, and originally focused exclusively on working with the media to get the message out to her clients’ targeted public about newsworthy events and improvements. Her agency team has garnered results for clients in top media, including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fortune, USA Today, The Today Show, Good Morning America and Woman's Day. Today, the agency handles all aspects of marketing for their clients, from advertising, website development, social media, Internet marketing, special events and sales promotions. She has always focused on using technology and the internet to leverage her clients’ marketing communications, which she believes has leveled the playing field between her agency in Maine and agencies in New York and across the country. A passionate and tireless entrepreneur, Nancy holds a bachelor's degree from Colby College and an MBA from Thomas College. She has worked with clients from England and Ireland to California to New York and statewide in Maine. In 2010, the agency worked with a company out of England to promote the memorabilia for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton throughout North America. Nancy is known as The PR Maven®. As a Certified 360Reach Analyst and Personal Branding Strategist, she helps experts, athletes, executives, authors and celebrities to raise their profile on the Web and in the media through personal branding. In 2018, Nancy started The PR Maven(R) Podcast. Each week, she connects with a special guest to talk about their career and business or organization, as well as the latest news and events that will give listeners a unique perspective on the world of public relations, marketing and personal branding, including actionable takeaways.
