Melanie Doctors is the author of Sleep in Peace, a novel recently published by Rising Action and distributed by Simon and Schuster. Her experiences as a stand-up comedian, theatre actor, movie photo double, jazz singer, auction house CEO, and lingerie shop owner continue to give her ample fodder for writing. An excerpt from her forthcoming second novel won the award for Best Comedy Writing at the 2019 Santa Barbara Writer’s Conference before being published in the Santa Barabara Literary Journal. She lives in her adopted city of Boise, ID with her love, her dogs, and her cats. When not writing fiction, she sings with an acoustic group Witches and Beer (featured in the audiobook version of Sleep in Peace), plants roses, or cooks for patrons at a fictitious diner.
