Marybeth Gasman is the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Endowed Chair & Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University. She has also served as the Judy & Howard Berkowitz Chair at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a historian of higher education and writes about race in America, broadly defined.
