I'm the New York Times bestselling author of nine novels, seven for adults and two--co-authored with my husband David Teague--for middle-grade readers. In addition, many moons ago when I used to be a poet, I published a collection of poetry. In my first novel, LOVE WALKED IN, I introduced a character named Cornelia Brown, and Cornelia turned out to be such interesting company and became such a part of my imaginative life that I wrote three more books about her and her circle of family and friends, the most recent of which is WATCH US SHINE. Like most writers, I am a huge reader and particularly love literary fiction, women's fiction, and detective fiction. When I'm not reading or writing, I'm happiest outside under the sky: hiking, running, spending time with my sweet dog, my smart husband, my beloved friends, and my funny kids, Annabel and Charles, and growing plants for the bees and butterflies in my garden at my home in Wilmington, Delaware.
