Following her graduation from UCLA, she travelled throughout Europe visiting some of the iconic cities like London, Rome, Florence and Athens, before returning to California to work. At the age of 28, Marika was introduced to an erotic novel by a boyfriend, who gave it to her as a joke. But Marika enjoyed the steamy pace of it so much that she bought several more and before long she was hooked on reading as many books as she could. While she enjoyed reading, Marika always thought that there was something missing in many of the books she read and, believing that she could do better, she began to write some of her own. Starting with short stories, she found that she a knack for it and soon she was writing full length novels in the contemporary romance genre. In her free time Marika still likes to get to the beach, now taking her three-year-old son with her. She still reads voraciously and writes something each day. When she wants to relax she meets with friends for a coffee or lunch and when the opportunity arises she is always keen to get away and explore a new place. Marika hopes to one day be able to make a decent living from her writing, but at present she is content with what she does. She lives with her boyfriend, their son and a German Shepherd in a small coastal town north of LA and wouldn’t swap it or her life for anything else.
