Les Page believes in fate. He knew there had to be a reason why The Time Twins had to be written. Les had a premonition in 1999 when he was 52 years old. For some strange, horrible reason he thought he was going to die and not reach his 53rd birthday on 28th May 2000. On the 25th May 2000 disaster struck! Les was working on a flat roof 10 feet above ground level. As he climbed on the ladder to descend it slipped away from him and he fell backwards and landed on a concrete patio. Les didn't know whether he was dead or alive, but had injured his back. He managed to get to his knees and wiggle his toes. At least his back wasn't broken, but the pain was unbearable. He needed help, but realised that he had left his mobile phone in the car, which was on a driveway some 30 metres away! He knew he had to get to that phone and decided to crawl back to the car. Then..................... a lady appeared from nowhere! He thought that maybe she was an angel. He was alive. The lady told him that she was doing a security check on her daughter's house next door and had heard Les cry out for help. She called for an ambulance and Little Mo at the bank. Little Mo was at the hospital when the ambulance arrived. For once in her life, Mo had exceeded the speed limit! Les had fractured a couple of vertebra. He was off work for 5 months and it was while he was recovering that he decided to write The Time Twins. There had to be a reason. Les thinks that God had decided that it wasn't time for him to go after all......Les needed more time to write to write The Time Twins! He needed time to see his 4 grandchildren too. Five years later Les had written The Time Twins............ and a sequel called The Time Twins and The Magic Crystal.
