I'm Ken Vernon and I am a life-long small business entrepreneur. Your vision and dreams of starting and running your own business can come crashing down when met with the day-to-day realities and struggles of starting and running a small business. By sharing my real-life experiences and lessons learned, I hope to prepare you for those realities and provide you the knowledge and tools to help you start and manage a successful small business. Over the past 30+ years, I have started and managed everything from a barbeque restaurant and live music venue to digital marketing agencies delivering complex online campaigns and projects for brands like Cadillac, Spectrum Business, and Canon, plus multiple technology companies in Silicon Valley. In the 70’s I owned and managed Tornado foosball game rooms in 4 different cities. With a partner, I built and sold custom upright basses to bands like Asleep at the Wheel. At my first marketing agency, we launched first generation websites for Uniden Electronics, Chili's, Corner Bakery and Maggiano's restaurants, just to name a few, and we managed marketing and PR for the 1999 Indy Car Champion. I have managed the full rebranding of a leading online social platform and was part of a team that executed online marketing initiatives for some of the largest law firms in the US. And, in 2019, I was the lead marketing consultant on an incredibly successful implementation of a marketing automation platform for a large nonprofit in the Northwest. I may not have seen it all, but I have seen a lot.
