With a B.A. in Sociology, Kathryn Powers was brought up in a home with family members who suffered from substance use disorder. Due to her first-hand experiences with people suffering from substance use disorder, over time, she developed a deep understanding of the condition. Her education proved to be a silver lining that helped mold her desire to write books about subjects that can contribute to a healthier and more compassionate society overall. Currently residing in upstate New York, Kathryn is surrounded by nature, family, friends, and her fun-loving pets. She has also dedicated a lot of her life to working with non-profit organizations that rescue abandoned animals. She hopes her perspectives and experiences can give an insight into the lives of people who suffer from substance use disorder.
