Kate is a mother of 4, currently living in Vermont. An avid hiker and backpacker for over 40 years, she loves the outdoors, and loves to encourage others to spend time exploring. Her career in childhood lead poisoning prevention spans 20 years working in New England, and now as president of the national Lead and Environmental Hazards Association she is active in making change around the country. Her books in the Lead Paint Clear and Simple series are to help parents, educators, contractors, housing providers and program managers stick to the basics and keep everyone safe! As a nationally certified EPA/HUD trainer in Lead Abatement and Lead Safe Renovation, Kate is available to consult on projects, speak at conferences and offer trainings.
