My name is Jupshy Jasmin, the author of “The Untold Truth of Her Beauty: A Story From Desperation to Inspiration.” A few years ago, I went through a tough period in my life. In a culture where there is so much emphasis on physical attractiveness and beauty trends, my intrinsic value was not of interest to me. My dreams and aspirations reflected the things deemed important by society. This only led to disappointment and unfulfillment. For comfort, I looked to the story of Leah from the bible because she was a woman who experienced the same feelings of insecurities and hopelessness because of her unmet desires as I did and yet, she still persevered. While reading the story of Leah, a deeper truth of Leah’s story and my own was revealed to me. She received something greater than what she was seeking for because the untold secret of her beauty was found in the most uncommon place. The same goes for me, my beauty was in me all along, fighting to break free from the pressures of society and the unfairness of cultural expectations. It was then I decided to share this secret to help women break down the barriers created by societal standards, embrace their intrinsic value and unlock the secret of their beauty.
