Habitat restorationist, soil-technician, native plant productionist, and zoo gardener—Jon-Erik Jardine has a long list of interesting job titles. Add to that his experience as a wilderness therapist and rites-of-passage practitioner for children with mental health and behavioral issues—and now, memoir author as well. While pursuing a Master’s in Biology of Arts at Miami University, Jon-Erik began writing his first book, Return to Pō, a poignant memoir of searching for healing and acceptance after the loss of his brother’s life. Having lived on a remote island with only a handful of other temporary residents, Jon-Erik knows what it means to be apart from the rest of the world—but through his writing, he invites others to be a part of his experiences.
