PITS! is Jennine Rexon's first children's book. It was born out of creativity necessity during the COVID-19 crisis. Reflecting on the books that my boys enjoyed when they were young, they always included amazing pictures, easy to read text, a light hearted theme, and laughter – always laughter. For some strange reason the word “pits” came to mind as an idea; from there I worked on variations. Tested with toddlers, elementary school children, and adult readers, the book's become an entertaining and educational delight. I've worked to enhance the text with an audiobook format (to be released soon) – so that it could be enjoyed by non-readers independently (reading the same book 100x to a child can get to just about anyone!) The narrator did a phenomenal job adding sound effects and bringing the story to life with a real life “dad” persona. With support of my team (Fotini & Richard), friends and family, I am proud of PITS! and all that’s been learned to produce it.
