Janis Nebel was born in Bavaria in 1985 and studied archaeology and geography. She then worked as an archaeologist in rescue excavations at various locations in southern and central Germany. After a brief detour into the world of business and everyday office life, she moved to France in 2017, where she fulfilled her long-held dream of writing a novel. Her debut "Die Gabe des Roten Königs", a YA fantasy novel, was published in 2019 as an e-book and paperback, and in 2022 also as an audiobook and hardcover edition.
