Jake Hanrahan is an independent journalist and documentary filmmaker from the East Midlands, UK, known for raw, immersive reporting on conflict, crime, and counterculture. He’s embedded with guerrilla fighters, dark web cartels, and rebel militias, gaining access where mainstream media won’t or can’t go. Formerly with HBO, VICE, and PBS Frontline, Hanrahan went fully independent in 2018. His work has earned a DuPont Award and recognition for pioneering a bold new style of documentary journalism. He's been on the ground all over the world, in Syria, Brazil, Japan, Ukraine, Armenia, and elsewhere. He runs Popular Front, the world’s biggest grassroots war reporting platform, and Away Days, an underground media outlet focused on fringe and subversive stories.
