About the Author: John M. MacLeod; John has worked as a photojournalist for The Courier of Littleton, NH, and staff writer/photographer for The Caledonian Record in St. Johnsbury, VT. He has directed evangelistic Christian coffeehouse ministries, served as deacon and teacher in various denominational churches, led house churches and, with his wife Beverly, been a youth group leader. John was raised in an evangelical church and born again at an early age. He met his wife, fell in love and married in June of ‘71. Early in their marriage they were enticed to join a “super-spiritualized group” that presented new and fascinating interpretations of scripture and soon became indoctrinated into their erroneous, cultic teachings. Through the faithful prayers of family and friends they were delivered from deception. As a result, John devoted himself to studying and memorizing large portions of the Bible to know for himself what the Bible truly taught as opposed to basing his beliefs solely on the teachings of others. The six-part series, “Saga of the Singing Sword Brigade,” is an outgrowth of that spiritual odyssey. John wrote this exciting series especially to encourage believers to grow in their faith by studying and applying scriptural truth to their lives, engage in evangelism and participate in the invisible spiritual warfare upon the Gospel and believers by learning to resist the forces of evil abounding in the world.
