J Rusty Shaffer is an entrepreneur and attorney with over thirty years of experience as a CEO regarding all aspects of business including worldwide manufacturing and distribution. Rusty is the inventor of the Fretlight Guitar, which incorporates a lighted learning system into the fretboard of a real guitar. He is the named inventor on eight patents relevant to various facets of the Fretlight technology. Rusty has recorded two music albums and also played on stage over the years with various music greats, including the Grammy award-winning band America. Rusty is a commercial pilot and flight instructor and was the youngest pilot in the Nation to solo an airplane on December 12, 1978. Rusty has also been a consultant to various businesses, and a mentor to many entrepreneurs around the world. He spent four years as an adjunct professor in the entrepreneurship department at the University of Nevada, Reno and currently lives with his wife in Henderson, Nevada where he’s an avid golfer, father of six grown children and devoted husband.
