My name is Virginia Rodríguez, but I use the pseudonym Ginny Bennet to write my novels. “Ginny” because it is the diminutive of my name in English and “Bennet” as a tribute to Jane Austen and her work that I always reread when I need to. After more than 10 years writing on my blog “Entender la Belleza” (it was not a writer's blog, I know, it talked about fashion and beauty), I realized that I loved writing. During confinement I discovered the “feelgood” style from the hand of Mónica Gutiérrez Artero and I thought that this style matched the idea of writing that I wanted to start. According to this writer, the "feelgood" style is characterized by having a happy ending, positive character development, there may be a love story but it should not be the main plot of the story, the setting and the landscape are as important as the characters and the dramatic point cannot be a death. When I had already written five novels in this style, I wanted to try another one and I wrote "Tulipanes Amarillos" in the "cozy mystery" style that I discovered through Ana Bolox books. I had a lot of fun writing this book. I am not one of those who make the protagonist suffer to the point of exhaustion. Since this novel, in my bibliography you will find novels of both styles alternatively or as inspiration comes to me. The objective of my novels is to create pleasant places through light reading. Yes, they are short novels to finish in one or two hours. The length of a train ride to a nearby destination. I intend for them to be entertaining stories with happy endings that provoke an inner journey while disconnecting the reader from the hustle and bustle of the world. If I succeed, I will feel that I have fulfilled my purpose. Although, I am afraid at the moment all my novels are written in Spanish. Sorry.
