Frank Talaber
Frank grew up in Edmonton, Alberta, and currently lives in Chilliwack, BC. His day job was a licensed automotive technician and shop owner, now he's semi-retired. But his heart and soul is writing.
His tagline is Canada's Foremost Off-beat Author and writes in urban fantasy, science fiction, crime, spiritual, romance, erotica and comedy genres. Well, anything that comes to him, basically!
When asked about his writing style, he usually responds with “a mix Dan Millman (Way of The Peaceful Warrior), Charles De Lint (Moonheart) and a scattering of Tom Robbins (Even Cowgirls Get The Blues)”.
He’s better looking than Stephen King (Carrie, The Stand, It) and his romance novels will have you gasping quicker than Robert James Waller (Bridges Of Madison County).
He has been called a natural storyteller, whose compelling thoughts are freed from the depths of the heart and the subconscious before being poured onto the page.
Literature written beyond the realms of genre, he is known to grab readers kicking, screaming, laughing or crying and drag them into his novels.
As he often says, you don’t have to be mad to be a writer, but it sure helps and advises beginners to “just write like your soul is on fire and the pencil is your voice screaming”.
In the last month of 2021 he had three short stories accepted in publications, another story voted number one by the readers in a 300 entry anothology. And his novel, The Joining, out of two hundred entries in the Canadian Book Club awards made it into the top three finalists.
To date he has over fifty articles/short stories, sixty blog posts, over ten interviews and fifteen novels written or published.
He is also working on a script and movie project and plans to get his works into films at some point.

The writing style is wonderful, a celebration of words, both visual and imaginative.
This story has depth, the themes are heartfelt and lingered long after I finished reading it.
The pulse of energy - otherworldly, Raven's Lament is a classic in waiting with dream-like narration. I loved every inch of it.

I thought I’d have a quick peek at Autumn's Summer and then finish the book I was currently reading! I was entranced and spellbound from that moment, my current read neglected! Couldn't put it down, read it in one day. Yes, the love scenes were intense, passion blossoms in many forms! I enjoyed this immensely!

Ainsworth Chronicles, Book Two: The Mystery Of Ms. Teak
I hate you, I can't put this book down. Every page gets more interesting, suspicious, wondering what is going to happen next. I sit down to only read one more chapter but end up having to read two more, because I need to know what happened in the past. Each chapter keeps you wanting more and now I hate it even more since I can’t get to it before Long weekend coming up. I just read the last six chapters, clinging to every word, every sentence thinking I know what is going to happen next. Oh no, you take me in a completely different direction. Great book

There are many aspects true to First Nation’s beliefs. For example the transformation of animals and anomalies within our realm. Frank Talaber’s writing is clear and concise, leaving no grey areas. But his true talent as a writer is not only a sense of time, history and capturing First Nation’s humor, but going from the real to the surreal and the supernatural. A gift he plies very well.

Do not read this book! Seriously, do not read this book - unless you are prepared to deal with a rift on your personal timeline. You will find that this book causes you to postpone activities that you would otherwise be doing.
You will be transported into a world of history and mystery, crime and grime, Spirits and other worldly time travel, with the delectable Detective Carol Ainsworth.
An amazing tale, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I want the author to take me to their world. I love the adrenaline rush I get from reading a book that scares the crap out of me. You know, the ones that have you screaming to the characters in your head or out loud. It tells me that the author did his or her job by getting me emotionally involved. I give up on books if I don't feel something. This book isn't one of those.

Your book was a rollercoaster ride thorough my emotions which, when I got off, left me stunned and breathless.
Your portrayal of sociopaths and the criminal mind in the pursuit of the sexually willing was so disturbing I had nightmares and had to set the novel aside for days. But the writing was so compelling I had to finish it, and I'm glad I persevered.
I literally cheered "go get them!" when Charlie used his protectors to deal rather uniquely with the antagonists.
I was enlightened to the Native spiritual culture which pleased me for which I now have a greater understanding and respect.

His novels transcend the boundaries of urban fantasy, science fiction, crime, mystery, thriller, spirituality and comedy. He also writes in the genre of romance, mystery romance, thriller romance and sexy erotic romance.
With a knack of bringing the BC west coast to life he was born on the wild Canadian prairies but immigrated to the cedar forests of coastal BC. Mated to a mad English woman, from gypsy ancestry, him not the wife. In the early hours of morning, when only cats stir and raccoons fear to tread he is writing, creating or making coffee. Stranger ways exist in the backwoods of Borneo, Australia or the American Bayou. But not here in the country of Bigfoot, Timmy’s and hockey.
Or as he also often says; you don’t have to be mad to be a writer. But it helps. A lot.
