Emma Sloley began her career as an editor at Harper's BAZAAR Australia before moving to New York to become a freelance travel writer. Her short fiction and creative non-fiction has appeared in literary journals such as Catapult, Yemassee Journal, The Masters Review Anthology, The Tishman Review, Structo, Cleaver, JMWW, and Jellyfish Review. Her travel writing has been published in Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Departures, Coastal Living, Gourmet Traveller, Virtuoso Life and New York magazine, among many others Emma is a MacDowell fellow and has been nominated twice for a Pushcart Prize, and her debut novel, DISASTER'S CHILDREN, is forthcoming from Little A Books on November 5, 2019. Born in Australia, Emma now divides her time between the US, Mexico, and various airport lounges. She lives with her husband, the writer Adam McCulloch.
