Dr. Terance Shipman brings over 30 years of teaching experience, dedicating much of his career to working with elementary students. He spent his first 11 years as a kindergarten teacher, building lasting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. This network, affectionately known as “Team Shipman,” reflects his commitment to mentoring and supporting not just his former students and their families, but also his professional peers. Now a middle school teacher, Dr. Shipman continues to expand Team Shipman, offering guidance and encouragement to his current students and their families. *Mr. Shipman’s Kindergarten Chronicles* captures the cherished moments of his early teaching years, sharing stories that bring him joy and pride. Each book in the series highlights the vital role of male teachers, particularly Black male educators, who are often underrepresented in the field. Through these stories, Dr. Shipman aims to inspire children by providing positive, relatable Black male role models. His hope is that the *Kindergarten Chronicles* will transform kindergarten into an eagerly awaited adventure for students, parents, and teachers, while continuing to expand the Team Shipman community. Dr. Shipman earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Tuskegee University in 1992, followed by a Master’s in Elementary Education from Hampton University in 1994. After teaching for 13 years in the Atlanta Public School System, he earned an Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of West Georgia in 2009, and a doctoral degree from Clark Atlanta University in 2013. Since then, he has taught middle and high school students, and the Team Shipman community continues to grow.
