Douglas Hicks serves as president, as well as professor of religious studies, of Davidson College. From 2016 to 2022 he was dean of Oxford College of Emory University and Emory's William R. Kenan Jr. Professor of Religion. He earlier served as Colgate University’s Provost and Dean of the Faculty, and prior to that, as professor of leadership studies and religion at the Jepson School of Leadership Studies of the University of Richmond, in Virginia. Hicks is author of four books--MONEY ENOUGH, WITH GOD ON ALL SIDES, RELIGION AND THE WORKPLACE, and INEQUALITY AND CHRISTIAN ETHICS--and editor of five additional volumes. He has held visiting faculty positions at Union-PSCE in Richmond and the Harvard Divinity School.
