DONNA GRANT is the NY Times and Essence Magazine Best Selling co-author (with Virginia DeBerry) of seven novels, including the Blackboard Award winning, Tryin to Sleep in the Bed You Made. Prior to her career as a novelist, Grant was the Managing Editor of Maxima, a fashion and lifestyle magazine for full-figured women. Grant spent more than a decade as a model, represented by the 12+ division of Ford Grant, a graduate of New York University, is one of the co-founders and a current board member of Footsteps to Follow, Inc. (FTF), a self-funded not-for-profit which brings professionals from an array of disciplines into classrooms, community organizations and churches, in the New York City area. The aim is to be visible examples of career paths that young people can aspire to, and to provide, inspiration and information so that they can set goals and make plans to achieve them.
