Desaree Jones is a 22-year-old novelist who has been writing for over a decade. She created SLWM Pub in 2019 after a search for black protagonists in fantasy and mystery novels written by black authors didn't return as many results as she would have liked. Frustrated by the lack of representation, she decided to create her own company and produce what she and many others were looking for. Her debut urban novel, Deeper Than Rap, will be released in May, and her first fantasy project, Heavy, is slated for early 2022. With too many ideas and too short of an attention span, Desaree often finds herself cycling through story concepts faster than she can pen them, but her loyal readers always applaud her for her rich characterization and compelling content.
