Deborah Gatchel has always had a love for scripture and a good story. With a librarian for an aunt, she was never at a loss for a good book. With her mother as her Sunday School teacher, she paid attention in class and learned the lessons. One lesson she took to heart was her mom's constant reminder that the Bible is filled with real people, with real lives, who suffered real pain and experienced real joys. They had to clean the house, wash the clothes, milk the cows, and harvest the crops. What we read are snippets of their lives. We don't get their background story, but they all have one. This understanding of Scripture is the inspiration for "Our Stories," tales of people from the Bible whose lives weren't much different than ours. I invite you to take a look around. You might find a new friend. I pray you will find a deeper understanding of who you are in Jesus Christ.
