Growing food is an obsession for David The Good. Every year he tests crops, experiments with fertilizers, analyzes yields and writes extensively on his results. Along the way, he's planted a wide variety of international root crops, created two food forests (and assisted with three more) in two separate climates, pored over thousands of pages of esoteric gardening texts, and become a sought-after expert in gardening and preparedness circles. Thanks to great parents who encouraged his writing and gardening skills, he latched onto the concept of organic food production at a young age, planting his first garden at age six. Since then he's spent three more decades in the garden and shared his knowledge with many thousands of readers in publications ranging from Mother Earth News to Natural Awakenings to The Prepper Project. David currently has over 15 garden beds, an experimental tropical food forest at the southern tip of Florida, a plant nursery and over 100 fruit trees along with a baffling array of edible and useful perennials. He has also invested many hours testing low-tech gardening tools and solutions for grid-down situations. He is also the husband of the lovely Rachel Goodman, who homeschools their children while attempting to feed them all on the baffling array of strange and experimental crops constantly making their way into the kitchen. David's daily gardening tips and wisdom can be found online at www.thesurvivalgardener.com.
