I was selected as an Indie Author at the 2023 Tucson Festival of Books . I appeared before in 2017 as Tres Buffalo. I write fiction that skirts reality. The people in my books do exist, and everyone knows someone who reminds them of my characters. Events are based on actual events with added fictional elements to enhance the stories. You may have known me under my former pen name Tres Buffalo. All of the books I authored as Tres Buffalo are off the market, reedited, updated, and re-published under my name. My life experience includes growing up in one of the poorest places in America, the middle of West Virginia and rural Appalachia in general. To escape, I joined the Army and eventually retired from the Department of Defense. Before I was employed by the US Government, I made car parts and paper products, became an accountant, got an MBA, ran a heavy equipment dealership, and owned two small businesses. At one point, I made enough bad decisions to be homeless for a while until family and friends helped me out. I have also been a patient in the VA medical system and am familiar with many of the associated struggles of our disabled veterans, some of which made it into my books. Please give me a try.
