Claire Coughlan's debut crime novel, Where They Lie, is out now with Simon & Schuster UK and Harper US. Claire worked as a journalist for many years, for newspapers and magazines in Ireland. She completed an MFA in Creative Writing at University College Dublin in 2014 and subsequently received mentoring from bestselling crime novelists Tammy Cohen and Andrea Mara, through the WoMentoring scheme, and Words Ireland/Kildare County Council, respectively. She lives in County Kildare with her husband and daughter, and is currently writing her second novel. In August 2024 Claire was selected by An Post Irish Book Awards as part of its 'New Voices: Best New Irish Writers,' "focused on showcasing a new generation of incredible Irish writers who are reshaping the literary landscape with their fresh perspectives and captivating storytelling, the list was curated through nominations from publishers, booksellers and librarians nationwide." Where They Lie was nominated for the Irish Independent Crime Fiction Book of the Year at the An Post Irish Book Awards in October 2024.
