Cindy L. Rodriguez is a senior editor for an educational publisher and an award-winning author of children's books. Her titles are: the YA novel When Reason Breaks, (2015), the essay “I’m a Survivor” from the anthology Life Inside My Mind: 31 Authors Share Their Personal Struggles (2018), Volleyball Ace (2020), Drill Team Determination (2021), Gymnastics Payback (2021), The Doomed Search for the Lost City of Z (2022), The Mount Everest Disaster of 1996 (2023), and Lola Reyes is So Not Worried (2024). Her picture book, Three Pockets Full: A Story of Love, Family, and Tradition (2022), received several awards and was selected to represent CT at the National Book Festival in 2024. From 1993-2000, Cindy was a reporter for The Hartford Courant and the researcher for The Boston Globe’s Spotlight Team when it was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting (1997). From 2000-2022, she was an ELA teacher and reading specialist in Connecticut public schools. She has degrees from UConn and Central Connecticut State University and two teaching certifications. Cindy has presented at numerous local, state, and national literary festivals and conferences about reading, teaching, and children’s literature, including the Boston Book Festival and the International Literacy Association's Annual Conference. She lives in Connecticut with her family.
