Chris Speck is a writer and musician from East Yorkshire in the UK. His latest book, This Dark Water, is a WW1 seafaring tale set in 1915. Stricken Hull trawler, the Kestrel, is hunted across the North Sea by SM U-19, a German U-boat. Avenue Cars Four will be out in Feb 2025. It'll be the last one in the Hull gangland series. Chris spent his twenties travelling the world, first as a guitar teacher, and then teaching English in countries as diverse as Hungary, Spain and Papua New Guinea, before returning to the flat lands of East Yorkshire. He also plays washboard in the legendary skiffle group, Black Kes.
