My name is Cassie Kelley. I have ultradian bipolar disorder and Asperger's syndrome, and I love life as much as I can. I am a Christian and go to a Reformed Presbyterian church. I may not agree with everything that goes on or everybody that I meet in life, but I am open to a discussion of views as long as it is civil. I enjoy reading, writing, but NOT 'rithmatic. I don't care how much you give me the hick'ry stick. ;) I pick Lord of the Rings over Star Wars. I enjoy animated movies like '9', and stop motion movies like the 'Nightmare Before Christmas and 'Coraline', and movies that don't swear at me or talk about or show things that shouldn't be talked about or shown. I enjoy many television shows, most of them for children. It hasn't gone away yet, and I don't think it will at this point. That's fine with me, though, because I enjoy them! Life isn't easy with ultradian bipolar disorder. Ultradian is just a fancy word for 'superfast'. So where a normal bipolar episode lasts at least two to three weeks, mine only last only a couple hours. I can go from super energetic to super depressed in five minutes. It's exhausting, but I am managing. Asperger's is a form of high-functioning autism. It's different for everybody. I have the 'TOO MUCH' gene, which means I can get overstimulated by crowds and noise. I fight this with music, which I CONTROL. That is important. I can't eat things like nuts because I have texture issues with food. Strawberries have seeds, which means I can't eat them. Coconut is impossible. I can't eat most vegetables unless their hot and in or on something. It's just a part of the way I am. Despite the fact that I have A LOT going on, and despite all of the troubles that I face, I know things will be all right. God will get me through it. For "In the day of prosperity be joyful, But in the day of adversity consider: Surely God has appointed the one as well as the other, So that man can find out nothing that will come after him." Remember folks, the devil might have a mean bite, but he's on God's leash. :)
