Barbara Price, MS, MA, PhD, is a freelance science editor and award-winning science writer with a background in earth and planetary science, astronomy, biological science, and climate change. She develops ideas and manuscripts for science-themed books for trade and educational markets, and partners with scientist authors, helping them tell their stories. Her debut non-fiction title with biochemist Dr. Katherine Reid, titled "Fat, Stressed, and Sick: MSG, Processed Food, and America's Health Crisis," was published by Rowman & Littlefield in September 2023. She is also an avid gardener and believes that health begins with good food. Her newest project is a novel, drawn from the years she lived in the rural mountain community of Lake Tahoe. The story is populated by mismatched lovers, children, scientists (of course), murderers, dogs, and more than a few odd ducks. Readers may be surprised to notice that they are learning climate science along the way, but that’s what happens when the author is a science writer.
