Barbara Kimmel is a children’s book author and playwright. She writes playful board books and picture books that entertain, engage, and educate the youngest readers. Barbara's debut children’s book, HANUKKAH HIPPITY-HOP, published by Kar-Ben Publishing, is available for pre-order and will be released on October 1, 2024. Her next project, PURIM POSSIBILITIES, an interactive novelty book featuring Colorforms© stickers, is scheduled for a spring 2026 release from PJ Publishing. Barbara also writes short stories for children’s magazines, including Highlights and High Five. Barbara is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Authors Guild. She graduated from Brown University, where she was the first female mascot, “The Brown Bear.” Barbara and her husband have three grown children and live in Atlanta, Georgia.
