Angie McCartney was born in Liverpool in 1929 and grew up during World War II, spending childhood nights in the Anderson Air Raid Shelter in the back garden of their Norris Green home. She would take a penny tramcar ride along the Liverpool Docks and dream of going to America, which she finally did in her 60's, via London, Sydney, Germany, Austria, Russia, Siberia, and many other points. Her book: Angie McCartney, My Long and Winding Road, (the first 82.7 years), includes the 12 years she was married to Jim McCartney, Father of Sir Paul, leading to many interesting adventures. It is published by ROK Books, UK, and was launched with a 2 night extravaganza on 30th & 31st January 2013 in her home town, at the famed Philharmonic Hall. She also runs an organic tea company: Mrs Angie McCartney's Teas, and is happy to donate part of the proceeds to The Linda McCartney Breast Cancer Center in Liverpool.
