Aidan Martin is a bestselling author. His debut book, a memoir - Euphoric Recall - discusses in detail his recovery from addiction and many traumas. His memoir received wide critical acclaim. His second book is due out late 2024— a Scottish crime fiction around lad culture within the trance scene of the early noughties— and is called ‘The Lost Boys of Ladywell.’ He received an award from Authors’ Foundation and K Blundell Trust towards the completion of this book. In May 2022 Aidan received an award from Creative Scotland to work on a third book, titled 'Trollies in the Almond' which is in production. This is an autofiction. He recently fronted his own documentary on STV called ‘Scotland’s Stories: Let’s Talk About Trauma’ which also received wide critical acclaim. He gained an honours degree in social sciences: with criminology and sociology in 2017 and obtained an MSc in Social Work in 2021. He returns to GCU in September 2024 to undertake an MA in Television Fiction Writing. In October 2022 the organisation he co-founded, The Scheme – Livingston, received official charitable status. This was co-founded with his creative partner (illustrator of Euphoric Recall and The Lost Boys of Ladywell) Mark Deans. They use creativity as an alternative source of support and connection. Also in October 2022, Aidan was awarded the Lifetime Ambassador Award from West Lothian College, where he graduated with an HNC in 2014. Aidan is represented by Jenny Todd (former Publisher and Director of Canongate Books and Marketing Director of Penguin Press), founder of The Literary Office.
